About Botox

Botox is a neurotoxin which smooths wrinkles.  When injected into the targeted area, Botox blocks nerves from activating the facial muscles.  Once the nerves are blocked, they stop contracting and pulling on the skin, which is the underlying cause of wrinkles.  Neurotoxin injections are ideal for smoothing frown lines, forehead creases, crow’s feet and more.

What to Expect During Your Long Island Botox Treatment

If this is your first time with injectables, here’s what to expect during your Long Island Botox treatment.  The appointment begins with a consultation where we discuss your goals and target areas.

During your treatment, neurotoxin fillers are injected beneath the skin of the treated area with a small needle.  Cease use of Aspirin, Ibuprofen and blood thinners 3-7 days before your Botox appointment to reduce bruising.  Patients may experience minor bruising or swelling after their appointment; this will fade within a few days.  Do not touch or rub the treated area, as it may disturb the filler.  There is no downtime required.
