What is the technology?

Sculptra Aesthetic is a collagen stimulator, used to diminish facial wrinkles by restoring the underlying structure of the skin.

What can I expect during the treatment?

On average, three injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months.  The number of injection sessions and the number of injections per session vary from person to person.

What are the results?

Typical results are diminished facial wrinkles, for a more youthful look.  Results from Sculptra Aesthetic differ from other fillers as the results are more subtle, gradual and longer-lasting.

Is Sculptra Aesthetic Safe?

Yes.  Scculptra Aesthetic is FDA approved in the United States and has been used worldwide since 1999.  It is made of a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid that is absorbed naturally by the body – and has been used for many years in dissolvable stitches.

Pre-Treatment Care

To decrease the chance for bruising at the draw site, please avoid all blood thinning medications and herbal supplements for one week prior to your appointment.  Also avoid taking Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin and Aleve for one week.

Post-Treatment Care

Within the first 24 hours of treatment, apply an ice pack to the treated area for a few minutes at a time.  This will help reduce common swelling.  Massage the treated area for five minutes, five times per day after treatment or as specifically recommended by the physician.  Avoid excess sunlight and UV exposure until any initial swelling and redness goes away.  The physician will provide specific guidelines on sunscreen protection.
